Our region and the "stone mountains" look really alpine. That's what our region is about and that you can see at your arrival. Coming from the east from the directions of Bischofshofen, the road becomes more and more winding and alpine. From the north and the west it's the same story. Driving to Maria Alm from the north you can see huge and impressive stone mountains with famous names like Loferer Steinberge, Leoganger Steinberge and finally the Hochkönig. In the south our region is bounded by the famous Hohe Tauern with their high peaks and huge glaciers.
